The Advantages of Electric Toothbrushes

Watch this video to learn more about how electric toothbrushes can be a more effective option to clean your teeth than traditional brushes.

While many of our patients have the misconception that they have known how to brush their teeth their entire lives, a lot of people do not know the correct techniques or the proper brushes to use.

While most people use a regular flat head toothbrush, they don’t realize that this cannot get into all the crevices and cracks that are in our mouth. A round head tooth brush can actually get around your teeth and clean underneath the gum as well, better than just a manual toothbrush. While most electric toothbrushes do take a little bit more of your time, they are now equipped with timers where you can start your toothbrush and it will let you know when you’re finished brushing. If you brush with a manual brush, most of the time you’re not brushing long enough.

Also, as we become older, we can lose dexterity in our hands. With a broader handle, you’re more well equipped to get in there and get the job done correctly. So make sure you talk to your hygienist today about the best options for you.
