What is a Dental Bridge?

Watch this video to learn more about dental bridges and how they are an ideal nonsurgical option to replace individual missing teeth.

You know, a term that’s used in dentistry a lot is bridge work. Well, what is bridge work? Well, think of a bridge. Think of, say, a bridge over the Mississippi River. On one shore, you have big pylons. On the shore, you have another pylon. In the middle, you have a river. Well, in your mouth, you have a missing tooth. That’s the river. On each side, you have good tooth, which is a support on the banks.

What we do is we construct those supports on two existing teeth that connect together, and they bridge that missing tooth. Now, that is just one option. Maybe an implant is another option. But a fixed bridge work, in many cases, is a wonderful treatment that we’ve been doing, really, for decades.
